Welcome

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Heritage Flex Academy. We are grateful for your interest in our school and hope that this website provides you with a sense of the vibrant and rewarding educational experience that we offer to our students and families. Heritage Flex Academy opened in August 2016 as a part of the family of charter schools known as American Heritage Charter Schools. Our organization has been educating students in kindergarten through twelfth grade for over twenty-five years. All five of our school locations are served by the charitable work of the American Heritage Education Foundation.

The opportunity to lead a school in such a highly reputable charter school system is truly an honor. I plan to continue the traditions that have been established at American Heritage Charter Schools and to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, community, and business partners to continue the success they have worked so hard to achieve. Heritage Flex Academy is a close-knit educational community that promotes the academic and social development of all students in a safe, friendly environment. A caring ethos is at the heart of everything that we do. The intimate school setting, small class sizes, and our strong family-centered system give rise to a very obvious “family atmosphere” in which all students are valued as individuals. Parents and guardians are always welcome at our school; you are team members who are providing our students with meaningful educational experiences.

Our dedicated staff at Heritage Flex Academy serves approximately 410 students in grades TK-8 for the 2023-2024 school year. In addition to the core curriculum, the school offers special education support services through the Escondido Union School District. Together we form a strong partnership to ensure that all Heritage Flex Academy students receive an exceptional education. We encourage parents to participate in school activities and special occasions as well as volunteer in their students' classrooms as their schedule allows.  We look forward to continuing our work with families this school year and many school years to come. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at (760) 466-1166 or email me at sknapp@echs.org. Please feel free to contact us if you require any further information, or if you are interested in sending your student to the school. My staff and I would be delighted to help you.

Warmly,

Sandi Knapp, Principal
