Monday at Heritage Flex is set aside as an enrichment day. While home study work is assigned every Monday, it is work that is conducive to travel and time spent away from the home exploring or venturing out on family outings. We encourage families to use the day to take field trips, visit museums, or extend learning through travel.
In addition to the opportunities that families have to create their own flex day, Heritage Flex Academy is excited to enrich your students’ exploratory opportunities by offering our Exploration Monday classes. These enrichment classes are available to all students in Kindergarten-8th grade. Each class has a skilled teacher who is specialized in their craft. Classes are free of charge, however we ask for a $10 materials and supplies donation for cooking and art.
Below is a sample of classes offered for 2018-2019:
- Elements of Art
- Famous Americans
- Fun with Numbers
- Get Flexible
- Math Power Hours
- Reader's Theater
- Write Now
- Yearbook/Photo Presentation Skills
Parent Volunteers: Volunteering at Heritage Flex is never mandatory, but we would love your help to operate this program. Parent volunteers are needed to coordinate the scheduling of students into classes prior to each session, help in the classroom, walk students to their next class, or help a teacher with setup and cleanup.
